About Us

Target Sports began life as Target Gun in the mid 70s, and has been edited by Richard Atkins since 1983. Owned and published by Blaze Publishing since 2004, it has now been incorporated into its sister publication Sporting Rifle – another popular shooting monthly. Expanding on the print version, the Target Sports website has been developed to enable shooters access to the back catalogue of features, as well as tools such as the Ask the Experts section and the forum, allowing shooters to share and benefit from each other’s wealth of knowledge.

A very warm ‘Hello’ to all visitors to the new online version of Target Sports magazine: Whether a former reader of the printed version or you have just discovered us, we are sure there will be something here of interest to you. Target Sports is for everyone who enjoys any form of target shooting, be it bench rest or black powder, gallery rifle, fullbore or smallbore target rifle or match air rifle shooting, FT, HFT or clay shooting. This site will cater for as many target-shooting disciplines as possible, carrying on the tradition of the printed version.

We have made available some past material published in Target Sports magazine and will be adding to both the archived articles, which will increasingly be supported with more new material. Given the flexibility of web pages, there may be occasions where a fuller version of printed articles can be published in the web-based Target Sports.

There will also be news of recent events and notices for future fixtures so please send in details of any open events that you would like publicised.
