SHEREE SECURES LOCAL HEROES FUNDING

Created on 26th May 2009

Olympic hopeful Sheree Cox has been granted £1,000 by the Lloyds TSB Local Heroes initiative. Nationally, 250 young athletes received the cash boost to support training and competition costs.

After shooting suffered a 75% funding cut in the run up to the 2012 Olympic Games almost all shooters lost their financial support. A delighted Sheree said the recognition was "absolutely fantastic." The money will help fund her training at local Heston and Hounslow RC as well as at the NSC. She is currently in Munich for the World Cup; we'll have a full report soon.
